- Every property checked before you see it
How we help first-time investors
Your first property, bought as an investment
- 01
Set your strategy
Budget, borrowing, growth and yield goals, and whether rentvesting suits you, agreed in writing.
- 02
Choose the market
We pick the city and suburbs that fit your strategy. That is often not where you live.
- 03
Check thoroughly
Comparable sales, rents, contracts, strata records and building reports, checked before you commit.
- 04
Negotiate and settle
We negotiate price and terms, then coordinate your conveyancer, broker and property manager through to settlement.
Rentvesting: buying your first property as an investor
Rentvesting means renting the home you live in and buying an investment property somewhere else. Many first home buyers are priced out of the suburbs they want to live in, or would stretch every dollar to buy there. Buying an investment first can get you into the market sooner, in a location chosen for growth and rental return rather than lifestyle.
We work only with investors, so we treat your first purchase as the first step of a portfolio. We set the strategy, choose the market anywhere in Australia, and handle the search, due diligence and negotiation. You do not need to visit, and you stay in control of every decision.
Who it suits
First-time buyers with at least $100,000 in cash or equity who want their first property to build wealth, not just to live in.
Grants and schemes
Most first home buyer grants, stamp duty concessions and deposit schemes are for owner-occupiers, and buying an investment first can affect your eligibility later. Rules differ by state, so check with your broker and state revenue office.
Living where you want
Rentvesting lets you keep renting where your work, family and lifestyle are, while your investment grows elsewhere.

What clients say about working with us
Do you help first home buyers buy a home to live in?
No. We work only with investors. We help first home buyers whose first purchase is an investment property, often while they keep renting where they want to live (rentvesting).
What is rentvesting?
Rentvesting means renting the home you live in and buying an investment property somewhere else, usually where prices, rents and growth prospects suit your budget better. It lets you get into the market sooner without giving up the area you want to live in.
Is rentvesting better than buying a home to live in?
It depends on your goals, income and borrowing capacity. Rentvesting can get you into the market sooner and let you buy where the numbers are stronger. Buying a home to live in gives you stability and may qualify you for first home buyer grants and concessions. We take you through both on the discovery call. This is general information, not personal financial advice.
Will I lose first home buyer grants or concessions if I buy an investment first?
Possibly. Most first home buyer grants, stamp duty concessions and the federal Home Guarantee Scheme are for owner-occupiers, and owning an investment property can affect whether you count as a first home buyer later. The rules differ by state, so check with your mortgage broker and your state revenue office before you decide.
Do I need to buy in the city I live in?
No. We are location agnostic: we recommend the market that suits your strategy, which may be a different city or state. We handle the search, inspections and negotiation, so you do not need to visit.
How much money do I need to start?
You need a minimum of $100,000 in cash or equity, and our minimum purchase price is $400,000.
How long does the process take from the discovery call?
If you qualify to work with us, the next step will be a 45-minute Strategy Session with one of our advisors. From here, it takes 4 to 12 weeks from signing up to settlement, depending on your criteria, goals, and strategic brief.
Do you recommend accountants, brokers, property managers, lawyers, and tax agents?
Yes, we have recommendations for all of those partners. As part of our service, we find the right team for you, and your property depending on the location of the investment. We handle the admin so that this is seamless for you.
